While Hurricane Ike means the timeline for getting a date with [livejournal.com profile] jeliza before leaving isn't going to happen, it does mean getting to see [livejournal.com profile] cuddlyeconomist a day earlier than originally planned. It also means getting my Tex-Mex fix a day earlier. I went ahead and took a vacation day for tomorrow, so it is also another day off--although realistically there's a number of things I need to get done on the road in any case.

The schedule for my Texas trip is as follows:

Fri 9/12
Arrive in Austin, staying with [livejournal.com profile] maggiemaepisces while there.

Sat 9/13
No plans as of yet

Sun 9/14
No plans until dinner, which will be at Chuy's on Lamar at 5pm. I know [livejournal.com profile] cuddlyeconomist, [livejournal.com profile] onyxlynxx, and [livejournal.com profile] red_tanya plan to be there.

Mon 9/15, Tue 9/16, Wed 9/17
Austin Game Conference. Free later in the evening each day, but otherwise busy with business during the day and early evening

Thu 9/18
Drive to San Antonio, stay with my folks that night

Fri 9/19, Sat 9/20
[livejournal.com profile] cuddlyeconomist and I will be staying in San Antonio and going to my 20th High School Reunion events in the evenings.

Sun 9/21
Flying back from San Antonio

9/11

I blame Rudy for making the phrase "9/11" insipid and stupid.

The 7th anniversary of 9/11 means I've been in Seattle for over 7 years. I moved to Seattle about a month before the event. All politics, opinions, and remembered feelings aside, that's the thing that sticks out to me most.

Hey, Where Did All My Stuff Go? by Pharaoh Tutankhamun [www.theonion.com]
I guess I should describe some of the stuff that's missing, in case anyone has seen it. It's pretty hard to miss. Pretty much everything is covered in gold. [...] So basically anything gold with animals and stuff is probably mine.
