A surreal evening
Sep. 10th, 2008 11:45 pmI've gotten to the point in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince where bodies start hitting the floor.
Hurricane Ike is forcing
cuddlyeconomist and family to evacuate their house. She's loaded up her car with her prized personal and mobile possessions, and drove to a friend's house further inland.
Ike also means I really need to move my flight up a day to avoid trying to fly into Texas as it makes landfall. I'm already a bit twitchy about leaving poor Koshka on her own for over a week, although I'm sure
loree will check in on her regularly.
This in turn means I have to cancel my date with
jeliza Friday I had planned to have before leaving for 9 days. Hopefully we can manage dinner or something tomorrow, but her schedule has never been what you'd call "flexible". From reading her LJ, she's not really in a great place emotionally herself, which only intensifies my sense of letting her down.
All in all, a bit of a moody evening.
