Oct. 22nd, 2003 11:25 am"so let me in now
I am ready to move
and here comes fear and resistance from you
and for once I am willing and now what do you mean I've got to wait?
these lessons are everywhere in my life
you know I never waited for anyone and I was always right
but ya now I give up I surrender
I would wait for you...forever
you the stranger who took a chance
held me at a distance so I could see myself
so thank you for everything you gave without knowing
and thank you for letting me fall in love with you
without withholding
without withholding"

It is shaping up to be a pretty quiet week. I'm actually getting down to some productive work at Sierra after spending most of the past week and a half reading docs and getting up to speed. Of course, there are a lot of meetings right now and strange things like mandatory "Respectful Workspace" seminars and other surreal large corp trappings.
This Saturday has something like six different events (RingCon, two friends' parties, the OLOTEAS Samhaign ritual, a Shadowrun gameday), which I'm skipping in favor of attending Con-Fusion in Victoria B.C. Yes it is the 'geekiest' possible choice from a very geeky list of stuff, but it is a chance to play a lot of Portals of Midwrathe which has about a dozen total players at this point about half of which are in B.C. Cheap entertainment, fun people, unique games, and lovely Victoria B.C. Thankfully the TERRA Witches' Ball isn't being held until next week or I'd miss that too.
Turns out Wednesday is a regular 'going out to lunch' day for the team here at Sierra. I was right about them not being 'foodies' though since it seems their regular places are all fast-food joints. Still, it is a good chance to get to know my co-workers better.
