Oct. 13th, 2003 10:19 amSpent Sunday afternoon playing the last Living Jungle module. The RPGA dropped support for it for various reasons, but frankly they have killed some of the best campaigns they had in favor of new "magic-the-gathering"-style campaigns. Bleh. There is some hope that with the RPGA so clearly focused on d20 and 'wargame D&D', alternative networks will support campaigns like Living Jungle and Virtual Seattle in some new incarnation...
Anyhow, this last scenario was the big 'final epic battle' module that has been building in the campaign for over 2 years now. It was bloody, but we prevailed. My character S'Tuth finished out the campaign at a respectable 11th level (starting at 7th level characters are limited in the number of modules they can play for this campaign, and 13th is mandatory retirement). As a 'primitive tribal' campaign, heroes of this level are too busy helping defend, nurture, or lead their tribe to have time to adventure so if the campaign does continue in some new form I probably need to start a new hero anyhow.
After the game I headed over to
rubylou,
drakemonger, and
jeliza's place for the tail-end of their 'baby-viewing' party. A nice, low-key, and social way to end the weekend.
This week has plenty of options for keeping busy in the evenings, and I'm looking forward to my first paycheck this Friday. I'm playing a Living Force game online tonight and Wednesday, which is always fun. It is my first full week of work, so we'll see how things go...
