I've been left on my own this first week for the most part, which I've spent installing s/w, playing the various games offered in Hoyle Casino, and reviewing Renderware documentation.
After doing my first weekly timesheet, I've discovered they are really just a bureaucratic formality for us. Basically I say "I'm a programmer on the Hoyle team so bill my time to programming for the Hoyle team". I was originally thinking it was going to be like my first exposure to timesheets, where you had to track all kinds of crap. Yeah me.
So I should get my first paycheck next week, I have my Sierra badge (complete with belt-clip should I wish to try to pick-up the gold-diggers at local clubs), my garage parking permit, and just about everything except my 401k setup--I have to wait about 10 days for the investment company to put me into their records.
So while I don't have a long holiday break, I discovered the company store today. Being an employee for Vivendi Universal means access to cheap copies of a lot of games, DVDs, and CDs, plus some sillier crap like Universal Studios Theme park tickets and such. Friends & family should expect many a VU product from me this season!
