I've been remiss in my posting here for a few months. Frankly the summer's are crazy busy with a toddler and Rhys about, so the time I've had in front of my computer at night after the kids are asleep has been going into Skyrim. It's also been hot as balls here on the weekends the past few months, so I've not had much lazy afternoon time in the study either, mostly taking refuge in the living room. Yes I know we have about a dozen mobile devices. I have been busy posting away at my professional blog now that Windows 8 has been declared RTM, and have about six posts queued up to go out in the next few weeks.

Since our trip to Texas for Professor X's birthday, we've been mostly enjoying the last few weeks of summer with Rhys. I took him to Dragonflight for some Pathfinder RPG, and the summer visit ended when [livejournal.com profile] cuddlyeconomist and Professor X accompanied Rhys back to Texas, and then had a weekend in Maryland. It was a chance for my brother and Jason to head down to meet them and have some time with his godson. I stayed in Seattle to hold down the fort--I had a work thing anyhow.

We are starting serious planning on a house renovation, and have just about wrapped up the bidding process. Next comes the dreaded "conversation with the bank". I had a good review this year, which certainly helps on the cashflow end. DrB also started her new fellowship at the University of Washington.

DrB going back to work has also meant getting up a fair bit earlier and getting Professor X to daycare. He's doing pretty well, although it's a bit nerve-wracking for me to drop him off. He seems to cheer up pretty fast after we leave, but he's a pitiful little dude when he wants us to not put him down.
