The Geekining

Saturday was our 'second wedding reception' at the Texas Renaissance Festival, and we had about 45 guests. It was really more a "Christing" for Chase, which in our case is really more a "Geekining". We had a full day at the fair, and the event was a picnic for about 2 hours in the afternoon with friends and family. The weather was a bit hot, but pretty mild by Texas standards. There was a big rainstorm last week which postponed a number of other events, so we hit a pretty good sweet-spot for timing. We brought along our friend Denise from Seattle since she was (a) being made the god-mother and (b) has never been to a renfair on the scale of TRF. Otherwise we mostly ran about the fair seeing the sights, Rhys played a lot of games hanging out with his friend all afternoon, and Chase mostly slept in the stroller.
Sunday we visited DrB's grandparents in Baytown, and Monday we stayed out by the airport so Denise could catch an early morning flight to BlizzCon. We headed to San Antonio for a few days with my folks.
Chase has been a trooper with all the travel and relatives wanting his attention, but he's tired of being in the car. He's ready for a day at the same place with quality time feeding, being held, and getting naps on a regular basis.
We plan to head to Austin for a few days this weekend, probably Thursday late or early Friday.
