The snow has kept me homebound for 5 days. I've managed to get out for a meal, groceries, and just to get the hell out of the house for a few hours about every other day. I hit level 60 on Lord of the Rings Online: Minds of Moria thanks to super-helpful Aussies and staying up until the wee hours of the morning over several days. I got
cuddlyeconomist's scooter winterized. I had to reschedule my garage project until the first week of January. I cleared off about half of the backlog on my TiVo--haven't been watching much TV besides the Newshour for the past few months. I sat on the couch keeping the cat company for 2 hours. I cleaned the house. I did laundry. I put the trash out, then brought it back in the next day without being picked up. I packed for my trip. I've been staying up all night to sleep late just trying to pass the time and now I have insomnia.
Overall, I'm bored out of my skull.
My flight to Texas is still on time so far, although the real challenge is probably going to be getting my car to the end of the street. There's 6 inches of snow out there with a thin layer of ice in the middle. They seemed to do ok plowing Roxbury, but don't do anything on the residential streets. On the other hand, based on my trip to Redmond yesterday they are doing a lot better keeping the roads clear in City of Seattle as opposed to Eastside. Then again, finding parking anywhere near the airport may also be impossible--the people I usually use won't take reservations due to the weather.
At least I got all my shopping done and packages off before the snow hit.
