So I was hoping to get back to my flooring project this weekend, but I'm currently blocked waiting for a bit more material. If I proceed with the material I have, I'll end up either (a) wasting a lot and/or (b) failing to line the pattern up correctly. I ordered what I needed Wednesday last week, but so far no news of it's arrival and The Home Depot people have no clue if it will arrive soon or not.
It is a long Memorial Day weekend, and I don't have a lot planned to fill it. I'm not interested in spending $60 a day for Sasquatch when all I really wanted to check out was Bjork. Besides it conflicts with the OLOTEAS Spring Picnic Saturday afternoon. Every year I think there should be some act at Northwest Folklife I would dig, but there never seems to be anyone in particular worth fighting the crowds to see. I'm not into historical miniatures, so Enfilade isn't really tempting, although I'm sure
hdan would have loved it.
rubylou is off to visit family this weekend, so it looks like time with
jeliza will be rather constrained this week.
drakemonger,
jeliza, and I did manage a short dinner at Crossroads tonight while they were wrangling their small ones, and I suspect additional time will be in a similar vein. I did not in fact get an invitation to Andrea's wedding that is rumored to be happening this weekend down in Portland, which is probably just as well. And while I appreciated
appleang and
mouser suggesting I hop on a plan down to Austin for the Flipside weekend, the $600 short-notice flight cost didn't exactly close the deal for me. Besides the last thing I needed this weekend is to hang out somewhere that has a reasonable chance of involving bumping into her Kim'ness--she may be 6+ years beyond giving a crap about it, but I'm sadly not.
Maybe I should have planned a BBQ or something earlier.
Turned out to be a fairly short week at work with me being out at the Audio Music Partnership Summit Tuesday and Wednesday put on by the Microsoft Crossfader Team. It was educational, and provided for some social events both evenings as well. Caught Pirates on Thursday night, but perhaps someone will want to go see it again this weekend. I'm suffering from a bit of writer's block with respect to the last presentation I need to do in Korea in June, although as the deck is due Monday I'll need to get it done over the weekend.
Anyhow, I should get off my ass and go pick up some groceries and then watch something. I just picked up a few DVDs including A Scanner Darkly. Philip K Dick. That ought to cheer me right up :)
Update: Flooring not likely to show up until Wednesday night... Grrr, so no flooring project this weekend. At least I didn't already pry up the tiles this time around.
