The housewarming party was a success. In fact, according to my thermostat it raised the temperature of the living room by 2 degrees. Thanks to all those in attendance including [livejournal.com profile] loree, [livejournal.com profile] jeliza, [livejournal.com profile] drakemonger, [livejournal.com profile] hollyqueen, [livejournal.com profile] hollyking, [livejournal.com profile] beaq, [livejournal.com profile] tavalon et al, and a few others sadly lacking in convenient LJ handles. And I hope that [livejournal.com profile] vixyish, [livejournal.com profile] rubylou, and [livejournal.com profile] datavore all feel better soon. I kept the event smallish because the house just isn't big enough to handle a major party, and as it turns out a dozen adults and one small child running about is probably as much as this space can handle.

After six weeks of nearly constant work, I managed to get the house pretty much where I wanted it before having my first event here. That said, the sick that's going around finally started catching up with me this week and by the time of my party, I had managed to lose most of my voice. That's pretty much how things go for me when I come off a long run of stress, so I'm just grateful I managed to finish up things before falling prey to the bug-of-the-month.

I plan to take it easy today, and housework is basically halted until I get some contractors in to properly vent the attic. Attic insulation before the winter is my highest priority. There are a few minor tasks about the house, and I'm putting off the vinyl sheet flooring project in the bathroom, kitchen, and utility until I feel inspired to do it. As it is, the house is quite cozy and functional now.
