walbournArrived in Indianapolis fine to discover that when I booked the reservations over the Internet months ago, I ended up booking at the wrong Comfort Inn & Suites. So I have a room today at the correct hotel--granted a smoking room that smells a little funky--and I don't know if I'm going to have to find a place to stay tomorrow night or not. Luckily I arrived early enough today to get into a room before any extras were booked and hopefully there will be some cancellations for tomorrow night. And I thought I had double-checked the address like a zillion times. Guess it is a good thing I never found a roommate since I ended up in a single bed room for the night. The hotel also gave me my Internet rate instead of a walk-up rate.
No matter I suppose. This is GenCon and I will only be in my room for maybe 7 hours each night total. Still, not a fun thing to be worried about in the back of my mind. I'm a bit too old to sleep in the hallways of the conventoin center or on the floor of the Magic tournament room.
Update: I've secured the room for both nights. Means having to deal with the lingering smokers stink whenever I enter the room, but at least I have a place to sleep and the pillows smell fine. Yeah for me. Damn do I feel like an idiot for screwing up those reservations, but I think I figured out how I confused myself with the maps on the Indiana Convention Center website.
