Weekend computer project complete
Jul. 5th, 2005 01:16 amWith the exception of figuring out how to get my BIOS to understand that when I add the ZIP drive it isn't actually a harddisk and you should just continue through to the Serial ATA drive to boot, my new computer is all set up. It installed stuff really fast thanks to the 16x DVD reader and the 7200 RPM Serial ATA drive and games like Neverwinter Nights are quite snappy as compared to my 4-year old Dell.
What I find ironic is that I've received three free games from work in the past six months that I've not bothered to look at since the min-specs were way above my Dell: Half-Life 2, Metal of Honor: Pacific Assault, and Battlefield 2. Now that my machine can handle it, I find it ironic that I have absolutely no real interest in playing any of those games. Probably because they are all effectively FPS games and I'm more a RTS/RPG man.
