Seattle Pride
Jun. 26th, 2005 04:11 pmChecked out the pride parade today since I missed last year's. Lots of attractive people having a good time, plus since I was in front of Dilettante I could pop in for a pot of jasmine tea when I got tired. The weather turned a little chilly towards the latter end of the march, but it didn't actually start raining. The parking was ass as one might expect with tens of thousands of people all showing up in Capital Hill on Broadway at the same time, but the walking was good exercise.
Recognized a few people in the crowd from the meetups and saw
thatmathchick in the parade with other women of Seven Star. I guess if nothing else, I might run into some people I saw there at my next music concert.
For some reason the parade had a number of political groups and all of them were anti-Bush and/or anti-Iraq. Go figure. I guess to say being queer and/or queer-friendly increases the likelihood of voting Democrat is pretty much as obvious as saying being Christian increases the likelihood of voting Republican. Not 100% true either way, but a definite strong trend. The majority of booths at the fair were political or community oriented, which is probaly better than just viewing the GLBT community as another market for goods and/or services.
maggiemaepisces seems to be feeling a bit more chipper today, so we are going to dinner with
loree most likely at Alki Cafe.
