Got [livejournal.com profile] onyxlynxx to her flight this morning. Pretty quiet day here all-in-all. [livejournal.com profile] maggiemaepisces is still feeling a bit under the weather, so we probably won't make any forays out today. It's pretty clear my apartment is a bit taxed with three adults staying in it, but two isn't too bad. Still, it would've been nice to have more time with Kirby this trip.

I do have a date with [livejournal.com profile] jeliza tonight, which I'm really looking forward to. She'll be out of town next weekend, and I'll be at Summerstar the following weekend so it might very well be the only time we have for the next couple of weeks.

While watching some recorded current events programming from this past week, I was struck by a comment about the Iranian Presidential elections. Apparently the ultra-conservative who looks likely to win the election was running with the motto that Iran needed to be "More Islamic, Less Liberal." Now while the statement itself has a bit of ironic humor to it, the part that struck me was that the current administration ran under more or less the motto that the United States need to be "More Christian, Less Liberal," yet they are making a big stink about how the elections. They complain that they weren't "free and democratic" because of limitations on the candidates, particularly moderate ones. Hell, I'd like to see a "free and democratic" election in the U.S. with better choices for candidates, particular moderate ones.
