In every way that Moscow was dirty, un-nerving, and unwelcoming to outsiders, Amsterdam is not. I'm sitting in my hotel room relaxing after my flight, and I plan to head out to find dinner and perhaps check out some of the nightlife (now at GMT+1)--although limited since its a Monday night. I'm really looking forward to getting home tomorrow, but how often am I going to be in the Netherlands?
Aside: Why the hell is the Euro note shaped in a way that doesn't fit into a standard US wallet? Is this some metric vs. imperial thing?
Update: I enjoyed my visit to where the Scandahoovians dwell, and they do live well. I took the colorful Hoo-Train, and walked a bit of the Joordan. Took a Hoo-Tram down to Rembrantsplein, and enjoyed some fine Hoo-Tea, then returned back. I didn't bother checking out the Hoo-Hooters or the Hoo-Hookahs.
Sadly, I didn't have time to see any of the Dikes or my spiritual Dutch-boy brothers.
