Originally I was going to stay in Seattle, but I tagged along to be the valet and driver for the trip to/from San Antonio, and to go visit my folks. I don't think my mom could remember the last time I was in San Antonio for Mother's Day. Friday we flew in early in the AM, grabbed a quick lunch, and then picked Rhys up after school. After a few more pit stops than originally planned, we made it to San Antonio. I was dropped off at Ding How for dinner with my parents, and they continued on to the hotel.
As Rhys put it after 5+ hours in the car, "This is a freakin long trip!"
Saturday I mostly spent the day performing IT work for my parent's PCs, and indulging my dad's desire to show off some of his personal arsenal. I guess it was kind of a combo "Mother's Day/Father's Day" thing. Saturday evening we met DrB and Rhys at Blanco Cafe for dinner. They returned to the hotel for smores and I went back to stay a second night at my parent's place near Castroville.
Sunday morning we met them again at the hotel for a Sunday brunch, then we booked it back to Houston to DrB's grandparent's place in Baytown--which unfortunately means my parents were on the far side of San Antonio, and they were on the furthest side of Houston so it was a 4 hour drive. It was both her grandmother's 93rd birthday and Mother's Day, so we made it a point to visit.
Sunday night we had dinner at Chuy's in Houston with some of DrB's friends, and then stayed at a La Quinta by the airport after

It was a successful weekend, but it was indeed a freakin long trip.
