Printer for a Decade
Sep. 18th, 2007 10:03 pmSo I guess it's officially time to replace my printer at home. I purchased an HP Deskjet 540 in 1994. It's printed all my game company's first contracts and design documents, and years of tax forms and directions. Since getting rid of my old Windows 2000 Server, I've been thinking about getting a network hosted printer. I just tried plugging my existing printer into my computer to print something, and discovered that there are no Windows Vista drivers for it.
I suppose that it's okay to abandon a printer sold 13 years ago.
I know the newer HP Deskjet's kind of suck, and none of them will stand up to 13 years of abuse. Heck, they might not work in a year. I don't want to spend at lot on a printer that I use rarely, but I do want something compact and preferrably has it's own NIC interface.
