Parents in Town
Sep. 16th, 2007 07:42 pmThey arrived Thursday evening, and I've managed to keep them entertained so far. They leave Wednesday afternoon. So far they approve of the house and the new crazy-big HDTV. Mostly they seem impressed with surround sound and a loud-ass subwoofer enhanced by a floating-floor--my father is hard-of-hearing. So far we've managed to avoid too much discussion about my dating life or politics, and instead they spend their time spoiling my already princess but aging cat. Did the round of shopping at REI and Ikea--got a new home office chair--, they went to Pike's Market, and we took a drive today down to St Helen's Monument Park but the fog was too thick to really get that close.
Otherwise doing ok. Still recovering from a very busy two months of trips and conventions, and my first lab of the semester is Thursday. Our offices at work are being moved. Not far enough to be nicer, far enough to be annoyingly disruptive. Likely will spend all of Monday just putting my office back together.
