The New Year
Jan. 2nd, 2007 08:40 pmBeen a very eventful few days. Got back from Christmas in NY on Wednesday night, and then headed down to the New Year's Eve of Loser Fun 8 gaming convention Friday evening. Some gaming friends had their wedding at the convention, and it was indeed a geeky wedding. No lightsaber parade, but there was a reading from the Dungeon's Masters Guide 3.5 on the Leadership feat and attracting a cohort. Cute.
Spent the night Friday night down in Tacoma, then headed back home Saturday night. My furnace had stopped working Friday, and they came out to work on it. It seemed to be working, but it was broken again when I got home Saturday night to a very cold house. Thankfully
loree was able to provide a space heater for emergency use until I get it fixed tomorrow. I also ate something bad Friday, and I was really sick that night. I blew off my plans for Sunday and instead slept in to try to recover. I did make it to
nerdvana's party that night to meet up with
jeliza, but was mostly found sitting on the couch looking dazed. By Monday morning I felt pretty good again, so I returned to Tacoma for more loser fun. Just got back this evening.
And the New Year is already upon us. I'm sticking around the house in the morning tomorrow to wait for the furnace repair people (who will hopefully actually fix it this time) and the insurance adjuster to look at the roof damage from last month's storm. Then it's back to work where from the looks of my inbox is already engulfed in the fires of emergencies.
Koshka seems to be doing alright despite the on-and-off chilly conditions, but she is quite happy at the moment with her head under my warm desk lamp.
