Julia's on Broadway is decent food, but terribly slow service. It does make, however, for an excellent way to spend a weekend morning if you have plenty of time to kill and are feeling a bit lonely. The people-watching on a sunny day is excellent, and today there are a few Halloween costumes to boot. Lots of cute alterna-folk, 20-something lesbians, goths, punks, hippies, and even the requisite Nader-ians driving up and down the street showing their (possibly misguided) civic pride.
Compared to the past few weeks, and even the coming weeks, this weekend has been pretty quiet. Probably won't be back on the road for work until January, and the fifth weekend in a month is usually a little dead in terms of gaming club stuff.
jeliza and family have been sick on-and-off for a few weeks, and they had a guest in town this weekend, so time with
jeliza has been a bit limited. We did manage a group meal or two Saturday, which was fun conversation and good company. The quiet did give me time to do some house-cleaning and other errands.
Next weekend I will be headed down to Portland for
Orycon for some hanging out with
loree,
jeliza,
rubylou, and
drakemonger (and hopefully a meal with the lovely
royalbananafish at some point). Not sure what is up for my Thanksgiving this year, but I'm sure I'll find someone who can be bribed with home-baked goods.
Fall is my favorite season of the year. Back in Texas it was usually warm and windy, and occasionally wet. Places like the Texas Renaissance Festival were great fall traditions, and I miss them. Fall in Seattle has been incredibly colorful, but I'm not looking forward to the overcast days. The locals I'm sure will be happy to be back to the consistent 25% grey background, but I really do better with sunlight in the morning.
