Game Developer's Conference Day 4
Mar. 27th, 2004 12:36 amI had attempted an entry earlier today from the GDC Expo floor, but since I managed to get onto the floor about 2 minutes before they closed it today, I didn't have much time. By the time I got onto a station, checked my e-mail, and got a ways into composing the post they had shutdown the WiFi network. Oh well...
Last night was Microsoft's XBox party, and while the theme was very well done (roaring 20's speak-easy/casino complete with many attractive women paid to dance, run 'booths', and walk the party handing out souvenirs) and had good food, it just wasn't as much fun for me as the DirectX Dev Day party. Maybe it was the style of dance music, maybe it was the excessive 'exclusivity' of it (they were really strict about invites and I got mine through some Sierra/XBox contact), but I just didn't enjoy it as much. Maybe if I was into free booze I'd have found more value in it.
Anyhow, I made it home just fine, and will post more about the GDC when I've recovered a bit... I have a very needy cat to deal with and I need to try to get some sleep, do laundry, and catch up on a lot of stuff at home this weekend.
