Melissa Ferrick @ the Tractor Tavern
Oct. 19th, 2003 10:33 amThe Melissa Ferrick show was awesome! She's a very high-energy performer and it was great to watch her go for nearly 2 hours--no breaks, often blending one song right into another, and I don't think she even stopped once to drink water. Wow. I picked up Skinnier, Faster, Live at the B.P.C., which is a two-album live set I was considering getting earlier in the day. The venue was chock-full of cute 20-something lesbians, with a smattering of older people and straight couples. After hearing a lot of her music and seeing the kind of performance she put out, I can see why she is so popular.
There were also two opening acts: Anne Heaton and Ann McCue. AH was quite cool, and AMcC was a great guitar player although her lyrics weren't really inspired.
