San Antonio

walbournAfter a long day of travel, I'm in San Antonio at my folk's place. I'll be heading up to Austin tomorrow afternoon and staying through Wednesday or Thursday. Actually looking at the calender, I see that I'll need to plan to be in San Antonio through the weekend to do Christmas with the folks and I head back to Seattle on Sunday. My brother Todd gets in Thursday late and my parents both work the first half of the week anyhow.
The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King special edition is pretty cool. There were a lot of small scenes and subplots cut from the theatrical release of the firm and it was great to see them on film: the breaking of Saruman's staff, the afterman of Eowyn's death blow on the Witch King, a bit of the courtship between Faramir and Eowyn, more detail for Aaragorn's trip down the Dulmalt road and taking of the coursair ships, and so on. Be warned: if you felt the original release was too long, don't bother!
