The good news: Getting on the standby list is trivial with Alaska Airlines, you can even do it from the self-service kiosk.
The bad news: the 9:45am flight was full, and the 11:15am flight is showing 2 overbooked.
I should be able to catch the 12:26pm without much problem since it is showing 50 something empty seats--assuming of course they don't cancel some flight and move everyone :>
So, I'm sitting around the airport for at least 3 hours today. Training for my travel-job I suppose. While I won't be making that extra slot this afternoon, I should have plenty of time to check into the hotel to drop off my bags, get some decent food, and then see if I can deal with my registration woes before the 7pm game. If I really wanted, I could go check out Disneyland--which frankly doesn't interest me in the slightest beyond the "kithiness" of it all.
Update: I did end up catching stand-by on the 11:15am flight and made it to SoCal in time to play that extra Living Greyhawk game.
