We did brunch down in the "Meat Packing District" today, which used to be an industrial area that recieved and processed cattle from the High Line railroad and now is a snooty art district. In fact, a new restaurant we had dessert at last night listed themselves as a "Meat Packing District" venue in some tour guide even though they have a Chelsea address--I guess to make it seem like you wouldn't be wading through homosexual males to get service.

Wandering down to the Hudson river, we took a water taxi down and around Manhattan to basically hit all the key 'tourist' places quickly: Ground Zero, Liberty Island, Ellis Island, Brooklyn Bridge, etc. After a stop at the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory, we took a subway back Uptown to hang out in Central Park. Some nice relaxing on the "Great Lawn" and wandering the park, then to the subway via Park Ave back to Todd's place.

This town is defintely full of walkers. Lots and lots of walking. Todd has numerous times today said our destination is "just over there" to mean 8+ city blocks.
