Well, the volunteering this morning was actually pretty nice. It was a planting project for King County. The location wasn't exactly 'wilderness'--it was actually on a levy in the middle of a Tukwila industrial park--, but the weather cleared up for a few hours of nice mild sun instead of the 50% chance of rain and partly-cloudy conditions in the forecast. On the plus side, a group of college kids were working for some club or another, so there was a fair number of cute college-age girls getting dirty and bending over a lot.
The work itself consisted of throwing shovel-fulls of compost down a slide, digging holes, and planting shrubberies--with a nice path down the middle.
Overall, it didn't suck.
So one more day next weekend and I'll be done with my court-required time. Actually, I think I enjoy this kind of stuff far more than I ever enjoyed going to the gym...
Update: Gods my arm is S-O-R-E. Throwing dirt used muscles I had forgotten I even had installed at the factory...
