Dido's new album Life For Rent is pretty good. The retail price on it is ridiculous though... over $20. And the music industry wonders why nobody has any sympathy for them not making a huge profit on music anymore and engage in rampant digital copying. Dido probably sees less than a $1 a disk...

There was an interesting article in the July 2003 issue of Communications of the ACM on Digital Music and Online Sharing. Talks a lot about the business model of music companies...

Update: Apparently Best Buy has less criminal prices for the new album...
