Pretty quiet day, so I haven't had much to post about. Just finished watching The Fifth Element again... the movie is damn quirky, but I really like it. Then again, what's not to like? Milla showing lots of skin and kickin' ass, Bruce Willis doing his usual 'down and dirty' hero, great supporting cast, and a whacky but cool story with great effects. What I like most about it is how consistent it is within what is a totally bizarre creation, never breaking the 'feel' of the setting. Remember seeing it with a friend when it first came out, and she was irritated at the idea of model-skinny Milla as "the supreme being" and portrayed as the image of "perfect"... I can see her point, but I always thought Milla's character was the "perfect feminine protector", not "the perfect female"--sounds like a job for Claudia Black :> I think she, as a Wiccan, felt that Milla was not the image of the "perfect goddess", but too me Milla makes a pretty good cut as the maiden, although clearly not the mother or the crone, if you are going with a nice 'trinity' model of the divine...

Anyhow, not much planned for my Friday at this point, but I'm gaming all day Saturday, and then going to a Dim Sum breakfast Sunday morning and then a Witches' Brew meeting down in Tacoma. Should at least be social.

Congrats to [livejournal.com profile] ludic_eros on her new job; hope the ankle gets better [livejournal.com profile] loree, hope [livejournal.com profile] femmexfatale, [livejournal.com profile] littlefr0g, and [livejournal.com profile] vixyish are feeling better...
