walbournWell, happy birthday to me.
It is hard to really know how to feel about a birthday... As a child, your birthday is really cool, but after a while they stop meaning quite so much. Some years I had big parties with lots of friends, other years just spent the time with the people I loved and close friends over dinner.
Events in recent years have made most 'special' days of the year a little bitter for me, so I'm trying to keep my plans small and not expect much from the day. At the same time, I don't want to cheat myself out of a once-in-a-lifetime day just because I'm not really happy with the course of my life the past five years.
Anyhow, I should probably start my birthday with getting some sleep...
