A fun and busy Thanksgiving Weekend. Since I did the turkey, stuffing, gravy, apple pie, and rolls for last year's little get-together with [livejournal.com profile] loree and [livejournal.com profile] tithonium, I decided to do it again. Only this year I invited more people over: [livejournal.com profile] loree, [livejournal.com profile] tithonium, [livejournal.com profile] jeliza, [livejournal.com profile] drakemonger, the two kids, and [livejournal.com profile] cuddlyeconomist who was in town for the holiday. Instead of a 7# breast, I did a 16# full bird. Otherwise same as last year with more quantity (perhaps too many rolls), and a few pre-dinner snacks. Alton's brined turkey turned out excellent again, and the stuffing seemed to have a more reasonable spicing than last year--I still don't recall exactly how it tastes when my parents make it. The timing was thrown off by the turkey taking closer to 3 hours to finish, but everyone enjoyed the meal.

Saturday night, [livejournal.com profile] cuddlyeconomist, [livejournal.com profile] jeliza, and I went to see Brandi Carlile. Instead of her usual act, she was playing with the Seattle Symphony. 2,000 cute lesbians and Brandi's relations filled the place, and the 6 or 7 songs that had full orchestral backing were awesome. She even did her cover with Hallelujah with full backing, and it was amazing. [livejournal.com profile] cuddlyeconomist's outfit for the show also drew some attention, given that 95% of the audience appreciate the sighting of a cute girl in a great outfit.

Also managed a fair amount of time on Lord of the Rings Online playing the new Mines of Moria expansion that came out about a week or so ago. Some of the people in my kinship (the LOTRO equivalent of a guild) were online for a week solid to hit the new level cap ASAP. I'm taking a bit more a leisurely time exploring the new content. Lots to do.
