Went to the Washington RenFair yesterday with some of my TERRA friends. It was small, but not as small as I imagined (for my Texas friends, it was about 2-3 times the size than Excalibur, but still much smaller than TRF or Scarbough Faire). There were of course quite a few other TERRA folks there (the fair is much closer to Tacoma than Seattle). I recognized one of the vendors from Summerstar, and of course Heather Alexander was one of the scheduled entertainers. And despite being some of the hottest weather the area has to offer, I found it quite pleasant with regular visits to the shade.

Of course, getting there sucked. The I-90 closure didn't slow me down too much, but some bridge work closer to Tacoma involved shutting down half the southbound lanes on I-5 and it took an hour to get from the point where traffic came to a near-stop and the point where the lanes actually closed. It then took 5 minutes to get past the construction. We then consolidated cars to go to the fair and when we got to the fair, the driver's car broke down. So I ended up bumming a ride from another TERRA person near the end of the day in order to get to my car, come back to pick up my friends, and then get the original driver to his folks in Pullyalup to get a car-dolly and van.

All in all, a nice day though...
