Weekend recap

walbournYesterday I went to the Gig Harbor Ren Faire with some gamer friends. It's been years since I've been to the Ren Faire, although I did make it to the Gig Harbor event once before so I didn't expect anything on the scale of TRF or Scarborough. It was a fun excuse to hang out in silly costume. Afterwards had dinner withjeliza and drakemonger and then jeliza and I had our usual Saturday night date time. This morning (or really afternoon) was brunch at Alki Cafe with jeliza, drakemonger, loree and tithonium.
The summer weather in Seattle this year has been rather fleeting. It was overcast yesterday, which made for temperate weather, but today is rainy and grey. My only real plans for this weekend were to clean house for my brother coming into town Wednesday, which I did Friday night. Looks like it will be a quiet afternoon at home, which is fine although I'm hopefully not headed into another moody Sunday night as a result.
Any homestickness I might feel given the weather and missing the days of my youth is offset by the fact that Texas is probably being drowned by Hurricane Dean at the moment. Wish I could've managed a trip back to Texas on MS's tab this fall, but I'm still considering coming back for CMA Samhaign this year. I already paid my membership, so I should probably go ahead and register for the event. I'm thinking I should get a Food Card for dinner Fri/Sat since that will simplify the logistics of flying in...
