Theorical no more...

I took Wednesday off to await the delivery of several items, notably my sofa. After much waiting, several frustrating calls, and continued erosion of my respect for the general level of competence in my fellow human beings, my sofa did indeed arrive. I also managed to get some more work on the house done, as well as Plan B for the kitchen item Ikea kept screwing me over trying to get.
At this point I have finished the flooring, moulding, the bulk of the painting in all the rooms (just have touch-ups and some trim work left), all the doors except the bathroom door and the second go at the front door, almost all the switch/receptacle/knob/hinge replacement, new lighting in all rooms, some window blinds up, most of my art hung, and a few new pieces of furniture in place. I also have all my new appliances in place (hot water heater, washer/dryer, fridge), and once I get past all these stupid city inspections the last detail on my electric service upgrade should be complete. I've got everything unpacked except the dishes awaiting the cabinets to put them in.
In fairly short order I want to wrap up the trim painting, put up the rest of the blinds (they should've arrived yesterday, but got rescheduled for today), finish up the kitchen (purchase/install a new vent hood, mount pot rack, repaper the originally cabinetry), replace the bathroom vinyl tiles with fresh sheet vinyl (the kitchen/utility room is a project for later in the year or early next), and some plumbing work (install new low-water toilet, address the disposal, fix the slow drain in that bathroom). Landscapers are showing up tomorrow to do a full day of clean-up, and then I have some minor details outside. I need to do some research on a roofer-type to put in more peak-ventilation and a duct hook-up for my new kitchen vent (recirulating vents suck rocks).
I also have a garage half full of cardboard now. Anyone have need for moving boxes?
Update: Went to a happy hour this evening, so I got home latish after work. Blinds arrived just fine. This is the first time in my life I've had to open my mail with a screwdriver. The cardboard pile in my garage continues to grow. I'm looking forward to them being up and the paper taped to the window gone! Got my bathroom door rehung, but I need to get to bed. Night!
