Dec. 18th, 2005 07:06 pmBeen a fun and busy weekend. Spent Friday evening at home relaxing, most of the day Saturday with
loree eating out and watching Chronicles of Narnia, Saturday night was a fun date with
jeliza, and hosted a game of Living Force today.
I leave for Texas Tuesday afternoon, and Monday at work is likely to be pretty damn quiet with most everyone else already on the winter break. There are rumors of a big reorg coming in the new year that likely means: (a) losing my 5 minute commute and having to work at the Millennium buildings which requires navigating the worst congestion in Redmond, (b) losing seniority for the window office, and (c) all the work I put into organizing the lab over the past 4 months is likely going to waste. Still, change is not always a bad thing so we'll see how things shake out. Just remaining employed is a nice change of pace from the past ten years of working in the game industry.
Not sure how much time I can spend up in Austin this trip. I really want to hang out, but it's subject to the parent's plans. Likely I'll be able to visit Wednesday evening, and hopefully Thursday. Other than that, the schedule is pretty tight and complicated by a planned drive to see crazy Grandma Bubbles on Friday. Might be able to squeeze in a day Saturday as well, but Sunday-Tuesday are defintely booked with holiday family stuff.
Damn family commitments.
So, if I miss a chance to say hi to you in Texas: Happy holidays!
