It's been a quiet, isolated week. There's a crunch going on for the developers to get the December release of the DirectX SDK out the door before the holidays, as well as some projects in the larger division, but my little corner of things is pretty quiet. Lots of little fires and trying to stay informed, but that's about it. We have a summit event Sun-Tue, which should be educational and the location is really nice.

[livejournal.com profile] loree's been sick most of the week, and [livejournal.com profile] jeliza's schedule simply doesn't give us any time beyond once a week typically on the weekend. The past weeks were pretty booked up with gaming and other social events, as are the next few weeks through the new year, but this week turned out to be pretty uneventful.

Highlights for the week: watching Kingdom of Heaven and A Very Long Engagement on DVD, a group lunch yesterday for a co-worker who is leaving Microsoft, a nice conversation with my usual server at Coyote Creek in Kirkland, and finding IBC Root Beer at the Safeway--it's not been in stock for several years.

Tonight I'm going to see Aeon Flux with some Microsofties. Should be interesting given that the majority of critics simply don't get it--either that bodes well for the movie being quirky, or it's a travesty like Catwoman or Elecktra. I'll be sure to post my review of it later tonight.

Worst case: It's 1 1/2 hours of Charlize Theron in tight outfits.

Best case: It's 1 1/2 hours of Charlize Theron in tight outfits kicking ass and blowing *hit up.
