Nest Primping
Apr. 5th, 2009 05:49 pmYesterday I cleaned the house and stocked up on groceries, and today I did some weeding and rearranged the attic. Last year I had pulled up the partial floor so the insulation/attic cleaner people could put R-35 throughout the space. To make better storage for
cuddlyeconomist's belongings I bought a number of boards, some 2x2s, and a box of deck screws to put in a pathway and storage platforms. I put it all together with the help of a seriously high-power drill--my battery-powered hand drill was just not up to driving 3" screws all the way down. The attic looks neat and useful, and moving around up there is a lot easier now. It still isn't a terribly pleasant place to hang out: it's a bit stuffy even with the addition of more vents, and the air quality leaves something to be desired with the dust.
cuddlyeconomist and
czarina4 were heading to I-90 to go over the pass, but with avalanche control blocking 2 of 3 Westbound lanes, they are rerouting across US12/SR161 through Tacoma. It adds more driving distance, but with a 4+ hour wait on the Snoqualmie Pass it's still faster. They should be getting here before 8pm.
Update: They've made it to Seattle safely, if a bit frazzled from four twelve hour days in a car.
