Busy beaver
Apr. 3rd, 2009 08:19 pmBeen a week of busy. Last weekend I installed two florescent panels and an additional outlet in the garage. Last night I finished up the trim work and painting for the attic door that was installed over the winter. My home network now sports a home server with it's own UPS, cabling neatly routed through some hidden grommets. The wiring in the utility room turned out great, and all the new lighting fits well. I have some organization and light carpentry to do up in the attic tomorrow, but otherwise I feel like house is in great shape.
I got the design back from the landscaper, and expect a formal contract bid next week. It is pricey, but the results are definitely transformative. I'm saving all the planting work, the water feature, and a few other additionals for later but by early May I should have a major yard makeover.
Spent most of the this week at work in the performance lab. I had a new server, a new PC, and some various repairs I'd been putting off in the pre-GDC rush. I also had to put some borrowed equipment back into place, and do some other upgrades while I was at it. Mid-week we had a customer visit in the lab. More physical labor lugging machines around and cleaning up, but such well-defined projects add a level of completion it is hard to find in my regular work.
