Dec. 1st, 2007 08:11 pmThe week of grump had it's climax Thursday night, culminating in what felt like 4 hours of fitful sleep full of angst-ridden nightmares involving Kim and all that crap I tried to leave behind in Austin. It made the start to Friday a bit rough, and I'm glad for the weekend to be here. For a brief moment there was a plan for
royalbananafish to come visit, but naturally our Pauli's Exclusion Principle kicked in and she cancelled.
It's already a bit of a weird weekend though as I'm attending a Microsoft meeting Sunday and Monday, and tonight is the Home & Entertainment Devices division's party. Oh wait, it's the Xbox and Zune division's party, or at least that's what it was last year. I wonder if there will be so much as a post-card in the entire place with a Games for Windows logo on it. Still, not good to head into a party planning to be bitter, so I'll attempt something I'm absolutely no good at: letting it go.
I spent the day sleeping in and lounging about my house. It started snowing this afternoon, and I didn't really feel like doing much anyhow besides listening to the last of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix on audio book. 23 CDs. Damn that is one long-winded book, but I was getting the sense from the last two movies that I was missing way too much of the detail just sticking with the cinematic retelling. Now the question is do I forge ahead with the last 2 books, or wait until the next movie comes out...
Update: Turns out it was just a VP-level party, so not the whole division. At least it wasn't branded.
