Austin in my rearview mirror
Oct. 23rd, 2007 08:00 am"Some people say forgive and forget. Nah, I don't know. I say forget about forgiving and just accept. And... get the hell out of town."
--- Grosse Pointe Blank
I'm sitting in the Austin airport waiting for my flight back to the land of millionaires, coffee, rain forests and the rain to go with it. It's been a good trip, although had I not gotten the flight cheap via airline miles it would've been a reasonably expensive one. I wish I could say that I could make returning to Texas for CMA be a regular thing, but it just isn't practical. That said, I hope it's not another 6-7 years before I can make it back. I'll have to make it a Beltane event next time, although the weather for fall is lovely (for Texas). I will be back in Texas for the winter holiday. Not sure for how long, but I usually manage a few days in Austin somewhere in there.
I'm still pretty concerned about the reorg at work and particularly my new boss, but I'm at least feeling more relaxed about life in general. Going to be a short if busy week, and the insulation/attic cleanout crew shows up Thursday at the house. Carol, my old Vibrant buddy, will be showing up Thursday night and hanging out through the weekend so the 'old home week' continues.
Update: Now in DFW for my lovely 1 1/2 layover waiting for my connecting flight...
Update 2: After some silly go to terminal C from A, sorry back to A gate change silliness I made my flight to Seattle fine. It was 4 hours folded into a window seat where the person in front is annoyed when I try to move and keep my leg alive, and the person behind is grumpy I'm leaning back. Oh and the view out my window is the engine nacelle. In any case, I'm home now to a happy cat and a pile of laundry.
