Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Saw the movie this morning at the IMAX with some gamer friends. I enjoyed it, although not having read the books I can't tell you how it compared. Just like the last film, I got the sense that they only managed to capture the high points in the 2 hours they had. Too bad they can't do 2 movies each for the books. Then again, they need to finish before Harry is in his 30s...

The IMAX was awesome. They had about 20 minutes of the climax of the film in "3D". It was a 3D conversion rather than a true 3D camera, which made it a little cheesy, but it was still fun if gimicy.

Weekend

It's been a good weekend all-in-all. Spent Saturday gaming in Redmond, and then a date with jeliza. Saw the Harry Potter film this morning, did some errands, lunch at Luna Park, and came back to finish up some details in the utilty room. I finished the flooring work last weekend, and put the room fully back together today. Thanks again to loree for the use of her power tools, and tithonium for his help in unstacking and restacking my washer/dryer combo.

I'm working at home tomorrow, awaiting the delivery of my new range. After it gets here, I can put the door jamb back and call the whole thing done. I'm attending some local pagan camping events the next two weekends, so I only have four day work-weeks for the rest of July. Of course, I'll make it up in spades come August.
