Jun. 24th, 2007 11:45 pmUnlike many weekends, this one was chock full of potential activities. So many in fact that I basically had to pick just a couple because of scheduling conflicts.
With Summer Solstice being this week, there were several public rituals this weekend. I went to both OLOTEAS and TERRA events. I'm trying to invest more in local non-gaming-related community so I'm making a concerted effort to consistently make these regular events.
Past years I've made it down to the Seattle Pride Parade. While personally I'm about a heterosexual as they come, I like to be supportive. After all, my brother is gay, my ex-wife is bi as are many of my friends, and between my music collection and Boy Scout dress code I might as well be a lesbian. Besides, it's usually a good time. The scheduling conflicted with TERRA though, so I decided to stick with my original plan to head down to Tacoma instead. I did show my solidarity by purchasing some nice metro sexual furniture this afternoon: a new red suede chair and ottoman for the living room from Dania.
In other news: the flooring order didn't make it in Friday as I was told. Hopefully Monday. I'll be thrilled when the whole saga is through. I was busy enough this weekend I wouldn't have much time to work on it anyhow. At this point I'm just glad the stuff is actually ordered and out of the hands of whoever has been screwing it up to date.
Brandi Carlile is playing the Zoo Wednesday night, but I don't have a ticket. I'm going to try to get one from the work ticket exchange list, but otherwise I might have to pay a scalper.
Going to be a crazy-busy week at work. My boss is on vacation, and about three major fires are raging at the same time while I've got several major work items to finish. Oh, and this week is an Engineering Excellence & Trustworthy Computing Conference with a few sessions I plan to attend. Maybe I should try to get my ass to bed instead of LJing...
Update: Hmmm. Apparently when one says "this is already a month late, so please make sure you put a rush on this", this translates in the world of building materials to "as you've already taken a month, you might as well take another". My flooring material is in fact in town. In Kent. They are not scheduled to actually ship it to the store until Friday.
