After a rough night or two last week and a fairly trying week of work, the weekend was enjoyably low-key and social. Friday night I had dinner with [livejournal.com profile] loree, Saturday was [livejournal.com profile] hollyking/[livejournal.com profile] hollyqueen's party, Saturday night was my usual date with [livejournal.com profile] jeliza, and Sunday evening I had gamers over. Even ate at Alki Cafe twice.

The weather is a bit sucky at the moment with the last of the spring storms keeping the beautiful days of summer at bay for another week. Therefore while I briefly considered doing some yard work this weekend, I gave up on it pretty quickly. As I'm stalled on the flooring project until a bit more material comes in (hopefully before next weekend), I did a few minor things but for the most part I played a lot of games, watched some recorded Sci-Fi, and hung out with friends.

I mostly managed to shake off the Kim angst, but it just doesn't go away completely. I stopped writing about it here for the most part because I'm tired of it, and I don't want to keep putting more energy into it. Occasionally something seems noteworthy, but usually when it comes up it's the same old crap. Nobody else wants to hear it. Kim cut me out of her life so she could forget about it. I can't cut my own brain out of my life as easily, but at this point I'm damn sick of it too. Sunday nights are usually the worst, getting all emo for no particularly reason other than bad habit. Because I had company through the evening, I managed to skip it this week and just go to bed.

Speaking of emo, I hear Andrea is getting married down in Portland next weekend (Memory Day weekend). It's not nearly as upsetting a topic as Kim because it wasn't the same level of prolonged emotional train wreck, although I do really miss the girl and don't particularly find the drama of the split to be all that helpful to getting over my damage. Still, it was five years ago, which is noteworthy for the fact that it means I've been living in the Pacific Northwest for coming up on six years. It also helps that almost all my memories of Andrea are from Austin or Portland and she only came up to Seattle twice--which should have been a clue that things were headed in a bad way.

Anyhow, another busy week at work getting ready for my upcoming Korea trip and other on-going projects. This weekend will be the OLOTEAS picnic, hopefully finishing up the flooring project in the utility and perhaps some of the final details on the kitchen, and enjoying having next Monday off.

Update: Actually, surprise, there's a conference in town that I should go to Tue & Wed. Not so boring a week after all, but really busy.
