Holiday Wishes

I'm off to New York this afternoon for the winter holiday. Naturally the weather is creating havoc with flights today (Denver has been closed for a day), but so far the airline shows no delays for my direct coast-to-coast flight. Glad I didn't book on United.

Work was crazy all week with fires, most everyone else out of the office, and way too many developers who think they are going to be productive this week before they leave for their own winter holiday. I'm glad it's over and I have the excuse of being on a flight for 6+ hours to not check e-mail anymore today.

Hope all of my friends out there have power, heat, and an excellent holiday. Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy Solstice, Happy Chanukah, etc.

Welcome to the Big Apple

My flight got into Newark a little late at 12:15am. Rode the Airtrain two stops to the rail station, caught the 12:48am train to NY Penn Station, switched to the Downtown blue-line C subway and rode for two stops, switched to the L train and after 4 stops arrived about 2 blocks from my brother's place.

And for some reason the weather in NY is exactly like normal Seattle weather: a bit cold and rainy. At least it's not gusts of wind and ten feet of snow, so I'm counting my blessings. Oh, and he has power.

Good thing I'm still on Pacific time, but getting up in the morning is going to be a bitch.
