The silence of Sunday...
Jul. 16th, 2006 11:01 pmthere's no more coming back this way
the path is overgrown and strewn with thorns
they've torn the life-blood from your naked eyes
cast aside to be forlorn
Well the weekend came and went in a blur. I got in from Montreal pretty late Saturday, and
jeliza and I had to reschedule our usual date night for later in the week. I did meet up with
jeliza and
drakemonger for brunch and a trip to the aquarium this morning, but spent the evening in at home. Koshka needs the company since I've been gone for several days, and I powered through a bunch of recorded shows on my DVR.
This week at work is going to be 4 days of non-stop meetings doing slide reviews for a conference we are putting on in mid-August. I'm taking Friday off to head down to Summerstar, and I'm looking forward to the peace of a weekend in the Oregon woods with a bunch of dirt-worshiping tree-huggers.
I know that I'm feeling lonely when I'm in the mood to listen to music that reminds me of Kim. The bad habit of too many quiet Sunday evenings being frustrated with certain truths in my life these days. I need a change, and hopefully getting a house and moving to a new neighborhood will help.
I think I'm going to get into bed and read a book. A nice boring technical book.
