Weekend report
Jan. 29th, 2006 08:17 pmBeen a low-key weekend, but overall a good one. Did some errands like getting groceries and framing some new Nene prints, cleaning house, doing laundry, and spent a fair amount of time playing Age of Empires III, hanging out with friends, and watching TV. Not exactly productive, but enjoyable.
Saturday was an excellent brunch with
loree,
datavore, and their friend Kathy. I had met her briefly a few years back when she was staying at
nerdvana, but she's been living in California going to school for most of the past four years. Cute young ex-Mormon woman with long blonde hair, a classic "Renfair girl" air about her, and she's a PhD candidate studying Planetary Science as part of her advanced degrees in Astrophysics--which she got into by watching Cosmos. And did I mention living in California, so completely unattainable? You can't get more perfect for me than that!
Sigh. I'm pathetic.
Anyhow, it was nice to get a chance to have a real conversation with her--she's in town for a family wedding--even if it's likely the be only one we'll ever have.
Saturday night was dinner with
jeliza and family to celebrate her birthday. Good times indeed, and a great way to spend the evening.
Otherwise, trying not to laugh too much cause it pulls on my stitches. Work is going to be crazy the next few months, and one of those clusters of semi-local gaming weekends is coming up as well.
At least I'm keeping busy...
