Nov. 11th, 2005 12:30 amBeen a strange up and down week. Been sleeping in recovering from my cold, at first due to the chemical-induced Nyquill coma then due to insomnia trying to sleep without it. I'm feeling better overall, but the cough isn't quite gone and I'm clearing my throat a bit much.
Work itself is going pretty well, and pretty quiet this week overall. My boss is out of the office most of November, we have visitors coming into the lab next week, and otherwise I'm keeping busy learning Direct3D 10, reviewing articles and tutorials, and the various little stuff we have day-to-day. I'm settled into my new office, which is more central to the group overall--my original office was a fair ways down the hall in the development group's area rather than my event's groups area.
The evenings this week have been reasonably eventful. Played a Living Force game online two nights this week, which was great fun as usual. It was a prequel to the triology we are playing at GenCon SoCal next week. Went to the poly meetup Tuesday briefly--probably mostly to flirt with the barista, but also to be social. Tonight was a Microsoft/Boeing social mixer which was of limited interest to me. The majority of people there were recent college grads working at Boeing, and all fairly engrossed with one-another. On the up-side, I did meet up with some people from other Microsoft singles events and they invited me to their weekly happy hour in the late evening tonight in West Seattle, which was smaller and both more my speed and a better mix of ages.
The weekend and next week promises to be busy and full of fun things to do, and the following week will be short before the Thanksgiving holiday. Not sure what's up for Thanksgiving day proper, but I've got some gaming plans with friends for that weekend and hopefully
