Been a crazy-busy week. I've been getting up for 8:30am training every day, spending until lunchtime there, and then a slew of meetings in the afternoons, completely redoing our performance lab (which is going from like 8 machines to 25+), rebuilding my office after a recarpet, rebuilding a new desktop machine, and all the usual daily stuff of life at Microsoft.

And I've been doing it all on about 7 hours sleep a night. Really, I'm just not getting tired before midnight, although man am I'm drowsy in the afternoon. I'm more of a 9-hour a night guy ideally, but compared to [livejournal.com profile] jeliza, [livejournal.com profile] rubylou, and [livejournal.com profile] drakemonger I'm obviously a light-weight. With their 2-year old, [livejournal.com profile] rubylou's recovery, and regular visits to see their second daughter in the NICU, they aren't really getting much sleep.

[livejournal.com profile] jeliza has been pretty much unavailable for most of the past two weeks. I've been staying at work late and being house-bound at night. Between those two things, I've been a little lonely at bedtime, which is probably not helping in motivating me to get some sleep. It all culminated this morning in the mother of all angst dreams: a combo dream about the stress of working in the game industry, having to go back to high-school, and 'past relationship' angst embodied by Andrea all in the same dream. Whacky.

At least I'm making progress on work projects and got the new computer in ship-shape this week. The Dell is going to [livejournal.com profile] jeliza and family as they are in need of a machine newer than a Windows 95 box for general use and perhaps some computer gaming. Besides, I take perverse pleasure in getting the latest Microsoft goodies inside a house where an Apple employee resides.

I'm off to Summerstar tomorrow evening and will be gone until Sunday. I'm looking forward to it as there isn't really much in they way of large pagan campout events up here. I'm not sure if anyone else I know is going, but I find the environment relaxing and I really enjoyed the event two years ago.

It seems that I'll probably be making some trips for work over the next few weeks, perhaps even to Austin. I'll post more if it happens. July is a busy month, so hopefully I won't have to miss out on any of my current plans.

Update: Naturally it will be raining all weekend the one month I'm planning to camp :> At least it is limited to AM showers... This is precisely why nobody around here will camp except in July or August, as it is usually late enough that we are having sunny days instead of rain.
