Holy Lost Saturday, Batman!
May. 21st, 2005 04:44 pmWell, when I left LA it was just after midnight Friday night. It is now a little past 8am Sunday. Ouch.
The bad news is that we couldn't get booked at the COEX hotels which are much closer to where we need to be Tuesday. The good news is that we are instead booked into the Westin, which is the swankest business hotel in Seoul. The room has Western-style power, broad-band internet, feather pillows, remote-controlled lighting and A/C, and even my own mobile phone for use while I'm here.
A man could get used to this.
Unlike Russia, however, this hotel doesn't include an array of teenage prostitutes. Thank the gods.
Going to spend today trying to switch over to 12 hours ahead. I slept so-so on the plane, so I'm mostly just going to nap a bit rather than try to get a full night's sleep. We are probably going to check out some local flavor this evening by checking out one of the "PC Rooms" nearby--one of South Korea's primary form of entertainment is PC gaming, often in public spaces called PC baangs (aa is 'o' sounding).
