I started my week of living out of a suitcase. The flight to LAX was packed, but at least it left on time. As often happens on these kinds of trip, the flight had a lot of people from Seattle headed down to the event. The VP in charge of Sierra, my previous employer, was on the flight. Seems he has been unemployed since the studio was closed down by VUG. Also there were lots of game developers, students looking to break into the industry, and several Microsoft employees.
The expo show starts tomorrow. Since I came down today, I missed the "Xbox 360" launch event Monday which Sony's marketing arm did their best to overshadow with their PS3 announcement. I had a quiet dinner on my own, and attended the IGDA member party. There were only a few people there I knew, and it was crawling with recruiters, but I had some good conversation and a good time.
