Nov. 30th, 2004 10:01 pmI'm off to GenCon SoCal tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be able to get on to the 9:45am flight via stand-by to get down to Anaheim in time to play the 2pm slot at the pre-GenCon gameday. If not, I can at least get down earlier and have less stress getting to the 7pm slot. The RPGA has really screwed around with the games, so I need to spend some 'quality time' at registration to try to get things cleaned up anyhow. Means getting up really damn early though.
Spending the evening doing bills, packing, and listening to Frontline's episode on the diet wars. While I'm enjoying the discussion of the Atkins Diet negative effects--I personally despise fad diets and those that make a mint from them--, I'm being constantly reminded that my love of refined starch is a bad thing: white rice, pasta, white bread, etc. Oh, yeah, and you have to have a more active lifestyle to keep it off. Of course, the scarier part of the report is the way the developed world is killing itself with easy access to filling food at any time of day combined with nearly sessile lifestyles.
